Children SRC 2013, Teen SRC 2013, Adult Summer Reading Club

Kids, teens and now adults can take part in the El Paso Public Library’s Summer Reading Club. The club is a fun and interactive way to get the whole family reading together. The goal of the program is to encourage children to read during the summer when school is not in session. Studies show that young people who practice intellectual development such as reading over the summer are more likely to succeed in school and in life.

It’s free and easy to join! just visit any public library facility and pick up list of official rules. Sign up for a library card if you don’t already have one. Check out some books and start reading. Participant will have access to a log to keep track of their reading.

Likewise, there will be hundreds of special performances to keep the whole family entertained during the summer. Libraries will host magic shows, karaoke, interactive games, origami and sushi making workshops, trivia contests, balloon twisting exhibitions and much more. Best of all, the programs are free. There is literally no better way to spend the summer

The club offers special reading incentives to participants such as prizes and certificates for completing the program. Adults who complete the programs will be entered into a drawing to win a Kindle eBook reader and an iPad. They can also receive a free tote bag while supplies last.
