Come and take a bite out of crime with McGruff and some of El Paso's very own police officers as we come to an end of police week. In 1962, Preside John F, Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. 

During this special storytime, there will be a police photo booth, songs, stories, and crafts that all pertain to police. So come and join us as we celebrate our heroes who are behind the badge.

Pancakes & Pajamas: Tuesday, 23 January 2018

Come and join Ms. Carmen at this special storytime. Just roll out of bed and come to this storytime in your pajamas and enjoy some pancakes as well! As always, there will be songs, yoga, stories, and crafts, so sleep in a little and roll on over to the storytime.

4th of July

On this day, 4 July 1776, the 13 colonies claimed their independence from England, an event which eventually led to the formation of the United States. Each year on July 4th, also know as Independence Day, Americans celebrate this historic event.

...but of course, what's a holiday without a holiday themed storytime with Ms. Debi?! Ms. Debi read 4th of July themed books; sang familiar songs; and provided the kids with a fun Uncle Sam mask to create and wear.

Unfortunately the library branches were closed for the holiday; however, we are now back open and still celebrating the holiday throughout the branch.

Storytime Fun

Storytime is a time where children have the opportunity to be read to by a Librarian regarding all sorts of fun themes.

You guessed it! The ZOO!!!

Ms. Debi sang silly songs, read fun books about the zoo, and ended with a cute mask for everyone to create. 

Our library hosts storytime 4x per week all beginning at 11AM, and following storytime, come check out up to 30 books from our wide selection.

Encourage your child to read by reading and having fun along with them. If your child wants to read the same books, allow them to. Children love repetition, and in fact, need it in order to learn.
