Let's Shake, Rattle, and Roll Back to School!!!!

Please join us for our back to the 50's sock hop themed dance celebration where we'll have live music by the one and only Millennium Waves, refreshments, lots of dancing, a raffle for a prize basket, Mr. Universe the Balloon Guy, Whataburger's very own Whataguy, and free school supplies (while supplies last). We'll also have a prize for the best dressed guy and gal!

Also, we'll have a special STEAM program taking place in the children's area where they're making and learning the functions and aspects of wind socks (because there's a whole lot of wind here in El Paso).

TEENS, please join us for a free event designed specifically for y'all. The library closes at 6PM, but will only be open to teenagers from the ages of 12-17 ONLY. During this time, we will have Glitch providing us with virtual reality gaming, two henna tattoo artists providing free henna, an escape room, pizza, cookies, candy, music, scavenger hunts, and so much more. Again, this is only for teenagers and is 100% free!

Teens, do you love music?! If so, come and join us on Thursday, 19 July 2018 for our Summer Reading Program, "Walk It Like I Talk It, There's a Wocket in my Pocket," where we'll be rapping children's books over popular music instrumentals and beats. Don't have a clue what I'm talking about? Take a look below and make sure you turn the volume up!

All of the books will be provided and so will the music. The music is up to you and is not limited to just rap songs, so if you want to do an opera version or a hard metal version or a love song version, we got you!!!!

Please join us for our 22nd annual Dia de los Ninos celebration where we'll have free book distributions, a jumping balloon donated by the Sports Department of the City of El Paso Parks and Recreation, live music ft. Millennium Waves, games, activities, face painting, and much more. All of this fun is provided free to the public.

Come join us as we host a Valentine's Day Party on Saturday, 10 February 2018 from 2PM to 5PM! We have a day of fun planned which includes: a special themed storytime, music ft. Millennium Waves, crafts, Mr. Universe and balloon animals, face painting, prizes, STEAM, refreshments, and the raffle of a Valentine's Day gift basket.

What better way to end summer vacation than with a PARTY?! We will be hosting an End of Summer Party to say farewell to summer vacation and hello to the incoming school year.

Come and enjoy live entertainment ft. Millennium Waves, face painting & balloons by Mr. Universe, treat bags & games, and the grand prize raffle of 2 brand new bikes!

*to be eligible for the bikes, children must be registered in the Summer Reading Club at the EAM location*

TEENS

Meet us at the park behind the library to kickoff our first teen only kickball & sand volleyball tournament @10.30AM. To help battle the heat, water and popsicles will be provided. Also, PokeMon Go incense and lures will be used all day. So come and play and catch those rare PokeMon that you don't have just yet!

On Saturday, 11 June 2016 we had a special visitor who helped us out during our storytime! Can you take a guess on who that special guest was?

CHICO! Chico and his friends came to visit us, read to us, enjoy Ms. Debi's readings, and assist with crafts. Afterwards, we found Chico roaming around the library looking for books to check out.

After Chico's visit, we also had a special performance by Mauricio who brought along all of his drums. Mauricio gave a brief demonstration and lesson and then allowed everyone to play along joining in on a huge drumming session.
